Wrist extensor stretch. Extend the arm with the affected wrist in front of you and point your fingers toward the floor. With your other hand, gently bend your wrist farther until you feel a mild to moderate stretch in your forearm. Hold the stretch for at least 15 to 30 seconds. Repeat 2 to 4 times.
Wrist flexion: Hold a can or hammer handle in your hand with your palm facing up. Bend your wrist upward. Wrist extension: Hold a soup can or hammer handle in your hand with your palm facing down. Slowly bend your wrist up. Grip strengthening: Squeeze a soft rubber ball and hold the squeeze for 5 seconds.
Grab your hand with your non-injured hand, and gently add overpressure by pulling your hand and fingers back. Hold the position for five seconds, and then relax. Repeat the stretch for five repetitions. Next, flex your wrist down while holding your arm in front of you.
